FAQ

Does this ICO generator upload my image?

No. This tool uses browser Canvas and JavaScript to process your image locally. Your image is not uploaded to the 169996 server.

Why are only 16, 32 and 48 selected by default?

A 32×32 favicon.ico is the clearest default for most website use cases, and it should not add padding or background fill by default. 16×16, 48×48, 64×64, 128×128 and 256×256 remain available in Advanced options.

Why is background fill hidden in Advanced options?

The safest default behavior is to preserve the original image. Background fill is only needed when you intentionally want to replace transparency with a color.

Can I use the generated icon on a commercial website?

Yes. The output is generated from the image you upload. Make sure you own the rights to the original image or logo.
